ABOUT US
The C.A.L.I. Project
Our Mission: is committed to housing as a basic human right and we are devoted to the development of affordable housing for low to moderate income families.
Our Goal: is to establish a network of 100 units by the end of 2024, that offer solace and stability, while contributing to a more compassionate and inclusive society where every individual has the chance to thrive and fulfill their potential
Our Vision: is for everyone to have a safe, quality, and affordable housing solution, to address the housing need and stabilize our community.
WHY THIS WORKS
- We are based on the concept of housing first, which states that an individual’s first and primary need is to obtain stable housing, and that the other issues that may support the household will be addressed once housing is obtained
- Housing is provided first, and then supportive services are provided including physical and mental health, education, employment, substance abuse and community connections
- We rely heavily on layers of collaborative support networks that address issues such as healthcare, education, family, children, employment & social welfare
Supportive Services WE OFFER
Housing First:
Finding the appropriate housing solution for an individual, is never complex for us. We have designed multiple efficient models to address the need for alternative housing types. In our congregate models of housing, there are multiple units inside of a single building, similar to a single room occupancy (SRO). We are able to customize square footage size, bedroom/bath count, living quarter space to fit the need of the individual. Our single family model addresses the need for housing for both individuals and families. This model allows us to design model homes and apartments that address particular affordable housing unit deficiencies, while incorporating energy efficient solar home products, as well as the potential for supplying the home with solar generated energy.
Workforce Development Support:
The CALI Project’s Solar Workforce Development Program, in partnership with Lumena Energy, uses Virtual Reality (VR) to provide immersive training in solar installation, sales, and virtual powerplant technician roles. This initiative aims to empower mobilization for low to moderate income individuals with valuable skills for thriving careers in the solar industry.
Complementary Services:
The CALI Project has partnered with multiple non-profit orgs. throughout Pinellas County to help individuals integrate into the community by including programs to address life skills, mentorship, and assistance with employment through skills training and education classes. We also involve them in programs that support goal setting, financial literacy, as well as socially supportive engagement
We would love to sponsor a title one school with monthly mentorship sessions and lunch. To discuss a partnership please reach out to us at: info@caliproject.org
