Housing First and Always!

Overview:
The CALI Project is proud to introduce the “Housing First” initiative, a revolutionary approach to housing the unhoused. The core belief is that people need stable housing before they can effectively address other challenges such as mental health issues. We believe in Housing First and Always!
Our Mission:
Founded by Crystal Wharton, The CALI Project aims to deliver 100 affordable housing units by the end of 2024. Our first major milestone was the rehabilitation of a four-bedroom home with a studio and a detached accessory dwelling unit in the South St. Pete Community Redevelopment Area.
Key Features of the Program:
- Affordable Housing: We believe that housing is a basic human right, and our mission is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to safe, affordable, and stable housing, that is able to meet the needs of low-income individuals.
- Innovative Solutions: Once housed, we offer tailored support services to help our clients maintain their housing and improve their quality of life
- Community Partnerships: Collaboration is at the heart of our initiative. We work closely with local housing authorities, and various nonprofits to identify needs and provide sustainable housing solutions.
- Comprehensive Support: Beyond housing, we aim to offer holistic support to low income individuals, and have access to resources from peer support groups to self-care and wellness programs, promoting long-term health and well-being
